If you're starting to think about retirement, there are many ways the Academy can help you. Ophthalmologists looking to sell a practice can use the Professional Choices section to list a practice for sale and search for interested buyers.
Academy Membership Changes
Fellows and members who have retired can change their membership status from active to inactive and receive the following benefits:
- A waiver of annual dues
- Reduced Annual Meeting registration fees
- Reduced subscription rates to the Academy's Journal of Ophthalmology and EyeNet
- Full member discount for Academy purchases and services and full participation in Academy programs
- Inactive members forfeit their voting and membership application endorsement privileges and are ineligible to hold office or serve on Academy committees.
After formally requesting a reclassification to inactive status, your name is presented to the Membership Advisory Committee and the Board of Trustees for approval.
For questions about membership changes, contact Member Services.
